PDF Genius ("the App") is built to help you read, edit and understand PDF documents. We designed it to be private by default. This policy explains what happens to your data.
The PDF files you import, scan or create are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or keep copies of your documents on our servers, and we do not require an account to use the App.
When you choose to use an AI feature โ chat with a PDF, summarize, rewrite, translate, extract tables or form fields, or compare documents โ the relevant text extracted from your document is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI processing service (powered by Anthropic's Claude API) solely to generate your result. This text is used only to produce the response you requested. It is not used to train models and is not retained for advertising or profiling. Features such as viewing, OCR, annotation, signing, merging, splitting, compressing and exporting run entirely on your device without sending data anywhere.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share personal information.
Apple may provide us with anonymous crash and performance diagnostics if you have enabled sharing in your device settings. This data cannot be used to identify you.
The App is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
