How to sign a PDF on iPhone

Updated 8 October 2026

Method 1: Markup in the Files app (free, built in)

  1. Open the PDF in Files and tap the Markup pen.
  2. Tap + → Add Signature and draw it with your finger.
  3. Drag the signature into place and resize it, then tap Done.

Markup is a good choice for a quick one-off signature.

Method 2: PDF Genius (sign and fill in one place)

  1. Open the PDF in PDF Genius.
  2. Tap ⋯ → Add Signature.
  3. Draw your signature once. It's saved for every future document.
  4. Tap exactly where the signature should go.
  5. Send it with ⋯ → Export & Share.

The advantage is doing the whole job in one app: fill in the form (even a scanned one), sign it, and send it.

Tip: fill in everything first, sign last, then use ⋯ → Flatten (bake edits) so the signature is fixed into the page.

Fill, sign and send PDFs from your iPhone.
